Fear is...

Fear is  . . . .

Not for you

Not for me
Not God's plan
Not wisdom of the heart
Not good
Not free
Not in God's Kingdom

If we take God's words literally we can learn to renew our minds and be free of fear. His words are a balm, just what we need for life today and tomorrow.

Romans 12:1-2

Just like any car or appliance manual if you don't take the advice seriously and literally it can't help you in the use of the car or appliance for breakage, or problem-solving. It's just a 'book'.

I have lived most of my life in fear. Yes, folks, that's over 45 years of FEAR controlling my heart and mind and 20 of those years as a Believer in Christ Jesus. God had a BIG job to do in me.

Fear of Anger, Rejection, Emotional outbursts, Rage, bullying, not being liked, being alone, not having enough, fear of making mistakes, hurting others, emotional pain...

I had so much fear, and now I fear God more.

Do I fear a bear in the wild, well YES. But I also know God is the creator of the bear and I will be making noise and saying 'Hey Bear, Hey Bear' as I walk. If it is known bear country. I believe being wise and smart is my job, but my first line of defense is faith and prayer. God surely can keep me away from a bear or moose, and He surely can keep them from me.

Fear and being careful are two different things. I can be fearful of water or fire and never use them in a healthy way, or I can be mindful and cautious about what I am doing and what others might be doing around me.

I happen to be a really good swimmer so water does not frighten me, I also know how to start a fire and tend a fire so that is not a concern to me. Could I get wet, choke, or burn my finger in a fire? Sure, but I am careful and I don't take unnecessary risks. I am not a youth. That might be what they do because they don't really understand the risks and consequences of poor choices.

"Fear of God" is a healthy reverence, of power, of honor, of Kingship. This is my God. I fear Him as a loving Father who can bring severe discipline or harsh consequences to bad choices.

I fear His power and His ability to show His love and care in the most amazing and awesome ways.

Isaiah40:31CJB

but those who hope in Adonai will renew their strength, they will soar aloft as with eagles’ wings; when they are running they won’t grow weary, when they are walking they won’t get tired.

Yesha 'yahu / Isaiah 40:31
